I was feeling a bit retro-ish today (like most days when I have time to sit down and pick a mood) and this was a template I had in the wings from a couple of years ago that never quite got finished.
It's a dark backgrounded template - which is not something I usually do - but I love the yellow dots, the brown background and the blue highlights.  I hope you like it too! <3

Dear Blogger,


Welcome back from your coma.  Whilst you were asleep, many people thought about jumping ship to WordPress. Even though I use WordPress and Blogger, I still believe in you.  You are free, flexible and this is the biggest breakdown you have had, even since I have been using you (yeah, since 2003), and you know, blogs are cool and all, but there are other things in life more important and it doesn't hurt to remember that sometimes.

(Besides, there are so many freaking fugly WP themes out there that it's not funny!) 

So Blogger, my trusty friend - welcome back.

Did you miss Blogger a lot over the last few days or did you not really notice?

Here's a welcome back template in some lovely light hues (I don't want to shock you with too much colour after the events of the week), so we'll stay calm.  Green, Orange, Blue. Calm and relaxing.

The image preview below looks lame, but if you click on the template you'll see how lovely and delicate it is.

(I have used Google Fonts which are not changeable from within the template designer tab)

Blue Love Letter

Northern Jealousy - 2 Column Winter Template

First of all I would like to apologise for not posting a template for a while.  I am sorry but I have been so busy (yeah yeah, I know I always say that! It must be true!).

Before I get onto the template I would like to say that - YES! I am currently making a tutorial on how to change your blog fonts if they are pre-determined by your template.  It's quite a complex thing to explain (with loads of screen grabs) so I want to make sure I get it just right!

Here's a very winter-inspired template that I started making when it was over 35 degrees Celsius here (about 100F?) and I was quite jealous of all that snow the North was getting.  But now it's cooled down quite a bit and maybe I'm not so jealous after all?  Haha, whatever, here's the template:

PS: this template has fully changeable fonts, even the 'comments' link at the bottom of the post uses the same font as the sidebar title! Woo! Hoo!

I have two little boys so I can confirm that they are indeed made from slugs and snails. This template is kind of simple but very sweet and I love love love this shade of blue. Anyway, I hope you like it too.

A FEW THINGS TO NOTE:

(1) Your blog header and title will not show up! That is because there is a blank header image (within the downloadable folder) that you need to edit yourself. You don't need Photoshop to edit the header image, you can follow these instructions and edit - and add - it. Easy peasy and fancy fancy!

(2) Please don't leave me a comment complaining that your blog title doesn't show up. If you have this problem, please read point #1.

Saw A Ship - Cute Sailor Template

Hey! Who said I never make any "boy" templates?

Well, if you said that, you are WRONG! Here's one here - well, admittedly it's still kinda cutesy. But it's blue and it has a picture of a boat.... so that's probably as masculine as I am going to do. I hope someone, somewhere likes it.

And YES! I plan on making some different colours and different looks, cos I like this kinda thing a lot. If you find your header doesn't fit in well, then you may have to change the font size in the "Fonts & Colours" area of Blogger.

Hey Pretty Lady! - XML blogger template

Before I post the template I just want to let you know about this post (incase you haven't read it yet) which has something to do with keeping your widgets when you change templates! YES IT IS NOW POSSIBLE! Read about it here.

I am trying to get my head around how this may affect my templates when you upload them. Is it possible for me to make my templates with no sidebar and "main blog" data? I have no idea. But if you have any problems, please let me know and I'll try and figure out what the best way of making my templates is. Urgh, I have a feeling things might go a little crazy.

Here is a delightful lollipop themed blog template (header image by Flóra at Flickr.com - CC 2.0) and I adore it! There are quite a few changeable elements to this design - the border colour (pink the example), the background (grey in the example) and the inner blog colour - below the header image (white in the example) are all changeable. So you can make this template as bright as you like! Enjoy!

It's Retro Baby! - free xml template

OK, this is a simple but sweet retro template, perhaps it should be called "minimalist retro" or "simple retro" - anyway, you get the drift I hope. It's just simple and cute... with navigation bar. You can find how to add the links within the code or you can read the info below.

1. Log into blogger. Click on "EDIT HTML"
   
   
2. Scroll down the large box of code until you see the following (it's near the end)
   
   <li><a href="'/'">Home</a></li>
   <li><a href="'#'">Link Here</a></li>
   <li><a href="'#'">Link Here</a></li>
   <li><a href="'#'">Link Here</a></li>
   

To add your own links:
replace the "#" symbol with your link URL and then edit the "Link Here" text to be the name of your link (see colour coding below). So if you wanted to put a link back to me, this is what you'd change one of the lines to be:

<li><a href="'http://www.yummylolly.com'">Yummy Lolly</a></li>

You can remove or add any lines as you wish. You just have to add them before the </ul> code.

Greener Grass - free XML template

I don't often use photographs in my header images, but I found this one and liked it. You can also change a lot of the colours - the background, the "inner" blog colour and, of course, all the fonts and colours. Enjoy.

The Owl and the Pussycat - XML blogger template

I adore this dingbat font (ding delights) and wanted to make a template that was quite cute and not too serious, so I decided on this one - almost forgetting that the owl and the pussy-cat were in a "pea green boat"! Whoops. Luckily I remembered in time and their boat colour was salvaged! I don't know if the cat in the story was ginger, but my favourite kind of kitten is a ginger one!
