Pater Pansies - Also, it has been 2 years, I hope you are still out there???

Hello!

Wow, I CANNOT believe I haven't posted anything on this site for 2 years. It's so crazy! Where on earth has time gone? Anyway, who knows where time goes sometimes but I wanted to pop my head back in and see if anyone is still reading this site, if anyone is still visiting and to see if anyone wants free Blogger templates any more? :)

I know that a lot of the hints/tips etc on this site that I wrote years ago are now no longer valid or useful (thanks for changing everything, Blogger) but I am keen to work through them and perhaps focus on offering some really nice free templates.

I have made a template for you today - it's called Peter Pansies and it's cute!
 
Please note that this template comes with a blank header image which means you will have to make this yourself. Your blog title/description will not show up until you edit this image in a graphics program like Photoshop, GIMP or a free online web-based one (I like pixlr! Bonus: it's free!).

For now (until I update this site), you can find installation instructions HERE, and help on installing your header image HERE.  

And if you're new to making your own header image, or don't know how to do that, I have some hints here.

A couple of random things about this template:

• The fonts I have used in the test site header image are Esteban for the header and Homemade Apple for the sub-heading. Both are free from google fonts.
  If you like the kind of thing I have made in the test site, you'll be able to re-create it using those fonts too!
• The background colour is changeable and the pattern will show up regardless!
  To change the background colour, just go to the TEMPLATE tab in Blogger and click on the orange "customize" button. Scroll down to advanced options and you'll be able to change the background colour there. Any questions, let me know.

Woah! You are going to LOVE this template!  It's just beautiful - of course the credit there goes to Sarah at Totally Severe who made the stunning background!).

Her site is one of my favourites on the whole internet - NOT EVEN JOKING! - and most definitely one that deserves more appreciation! Her background images are stunning - check them out here.  She did not pay me to say this and she probably thinks I am a mega weirdo for being so in love with her images. But dudes, the girl has talent.

Spicy Grandma - 2 Column Blogger Template

Here is my first template for my new URL and I hope you like it.  I was actually going to post this template up for download about 30 mins before I realised that my domain was gone (sniff) so I have really been looking forward to sharing this one - I honestly worked quite hard on it.

I hope you like it - perhaps I could make different coloured versions? (which colours do you think would look awesome? Suggestions welcome!).

Booon - cute 2 column template with BEES

Bees don't say "bzzzz" in Japan, they say "Boon", and it always makes me giggle.

Flower, not the Universe - XML template 3 columns

Have you ever seen a field of Cosmos? They are so beautiful (even coming from me, not a big fan of magenta/purples). Here we have a stunning 3 column blogger template with cosmos header. It's pretty pretty, if I do say so myself. Hope you enjoy it too! xx

Quite Contrary (of the Mary Mary fame)

Happy new year to you all! Apologies for not posting a template sooner but I had a big, crazy, month full of birthdays, Christmas, new year and then more birthdays! It was kind of crazy!
Here is a template (sorry, I make no apologies about it being deliciously pink) with a background by Ava7Patterns. Also, it's made from transparent pngs - so if you happen to be using IE6 (less than 4% of you, you won't be able to use this one due to transparent pngs looking crappy on IE6, sorry).

Here is a template with a dark (black) background with a beautiful dandelion image. You can change the red header text to be whatever colour you want but I thought the red suited the yellow quite well.

Flowery Fringe - gorgeous orange/pink Blogger template

One of my most popular templates is Flower Pink Border (yeah, not a very creative name I know) and I have been meaning to make it into another colour FOR-EVER! Daisy Chains - XML blogger template

Sorry for my lack of posting of late. I am been a busy busy {busy!!} bee!

Where do busy bees hang out when they're not doing regular things? Why in fields of daisies of course! This is a pretty simple template with ~everyone's favourite thing~ rounded corners. It's simple but sometimes simple is good. Enjoy!

Opaque Blogger template - XML Template - HIGHLY CUSTOMISABLE (assmuming my instructions make sense!)

Here we have a template that you can use as is, or customise the header (read below for my instructions).  By default the template you download will have a plain text header, so anyone can of course use it.
 
My thoughts are all trying to escape my head at once here, so apologies if the instructions come out slightly garbled.  We have a beautiful wide blogger template that's made of semi-translucent png image files (sorry IE 6 users, you're missing out).

If you install it and use it as it is supplied, it will look like this - ie: it will have a plain text header/description:

HOWEVER.... if you want to be a little fancier and make your own header image using Photoshop (or similar graphics program), then you can make it look something like the preview site {here}.

Alternatively if you don't know how to make transparent images, they maybe you can make a solid backgrounded header image and the blog could look like this:

How do you make your own header image ?

We-ell, first of all I'm going to assume you have Photoshop (or something similar).  You have the option of creating a transparent png or just a normal gif/jpg to insert.  If you chose to go trasparent then you'll need to probably use png24 in Photoshop to make sure the edges are smooth as a baby's bottom.

If you have no idea what I'm talking about, don't worry!

Basically if you want to make your own header image for this blogger template please ensure that the header image is 950px wide for best results.  In the test site {here} my image is 950x193px.  It can be any height you like but 950 is best for width.

OK OK OK, how do I insert this header image I made?

Click on Layout > Page Elements and click on "Edit" in the header area:

Once you click on that, a pop-up window will open:

 Select your image to upload "instead of title and description" and then save.  Done!

SHUTUP LADY and just let me download the freaking template!

REMEMBER: the template will, by default, come with a plain text header.  Don't worry if you don't want to make a fancy one of your own!

OMG, WHAT? I don't understand what you're talking about here!

Sorries.  I guess anyone can use the plain text header template but you're going to have to have a few graphics skillz to make your own header and then insert it.

1This is a beautiful template with 2 columns (or is it 3 columns?) that you may say slightly resembles the new look to yummylolly.com. People are always asking me if they can have the same template as me and - yes - now you can. Although it is slightly different of course.
If the red highlights aren't you're thing, just change the colours in the Fonts & Colours tab. Enjoy.

Awww, I love this one - it's kind of tropical (which cheers me up a lot as I'm in the middle of winter here!) - I plan on making different inner background colours, just in case you don't like the dark brown, so stay tuned.
